Simple scrap quilt

I completed this quilt top last week.

I was given a few random scraps and I added a few more from my stash to be able to do the borders.

The top was handed over to my quilt guild which eventually be donated as part
of their Donated Quilts program.

The blocks are very simple  and quick to make and only require a rectangle measuring 2 1/2" by 4 1/2".

Even my kitty Penny approves

Log Cabin quilt and Quick Scrap Quilt

This quilt has been in progress for many years !

I am determined to have it completed by the end of the year. Probably need another 40 or so blocks to be the size I planned.

The blocks are 4 1/2" and are stitched on a thin interfacing as a foundation. They come out very accurate and no precise cutting of the logs is necessary as they are trimmed by scissors along the way.  It's a lot of fun using up tiny scraps of all types of fabrics and quite addictive.

I had a bunch of 2 1/2" squares so I made this quilt for a relative overseas.

Apologies for the image quality.
