CWB block 14 and stars

Just a quick post of the block I completed this week.

Out of the 20 blocks and borders I have to do, this is the 14th done for the Civil War Bride quilt.

I received from Jan-Maree these cute star blocks we swap each month.  I send her log cabin blocks.

In my display below I'm showing you a cross-stitch I have in my studio made over 12 years ago.
I still have a couple of unfinished cross-stitch projects which I would like to complete one day.

  1. I love your new block - so much work. Glad you like your stars. Great cross stitch too. I have done a lot of that over the years but my hands and eyes won't let me know. Just as well I got so much done in the past!

  2. Busy, Busy. That block looks amazing. So many little pieces to sew. Love your cross stitching.
I did some cross stitching for my kids ( when they were little) I'll have to look for then and show it to you.

  3. Cross-stitiching is also a hobby of mine. Your work i svery beautiful, Célia!
I like those stars too :)

  4. Just catching up on your blog posts - I love the photo of you and Chris and I have several of his CD's - what a lucky you to know him!

Your placemates are cool - and an idea I'll keep in my mind for when I get better and quilting and sewing perfectly.

I couldn't tell if the feet on your recent quilt block has beading on the feet - it was beautiful and I so enjoy your blog and your work.

    All the best, Katie from

  5. Love the CWB block and the cross stitch is a design that has always appealed. I too have UFO cross stitch projects. Take care.

  6. Celia,

ficou lindo o seu bloco. Esta é uma técnica que gosto muito, appliqué. Adorei o ponto cruz, e tem o motivo de seu ateliê, a costura. Deve ficar lindo na parede.

  7. I really enjoyed looking at your blog, and especially your beautiful applique!
    Lovely, lovely.

  8. Love that CWB block, your fabric choices are perfect. I too have about 14 blocks finished - I really should get back to that project!
